Rich has over 20 years of experience in demand side management for clients in private sector companies and utilities, as well as governments and regulators. His experience includes managing market research projects; and conducting impact and process evaluations of energy efficiency, demand response, and renewable energy programs. In this experience, Rich has developed perspectives on fuel switching and the associated issues of aligning policies with measure characterizations, program attribution (net to gross), cross-utility and non-utility fuel issues, and nonenergy impacts. Additionally, Rich has led stakeholder workshops and trainings on wind energy, biogas, solar energy, and energy efficiency in a variety of settings, including to university, professional development, and general population audiences. Rich is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Carbon Reduction Manager (CRM).
