System Planning

Hi-Line Engineering offers engineering and planning services to the electric utility industry throughout the United States. We provide high-quality, personal service to rural electric cooperatives, investor-owned utilities, municipals, and the U.S. military.
Analysis of an electric system starts with an understanding of the physical requirements necessary to build and maintain the transmission line, substations, lines, and equipment. Hi-Line’s staff has hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of distribution utilities. Hi-Line provides assistance in the development of load projections and planning criteria. All designs developed by Hi-Line in a planning study also undergo analysis for alternate solutions. Our experience in planning and construction allows us to create feasible solutions that meet the requirements of the planning criteria.
Hi-Line utilizes several key software packages to perform system planning studies, sectionalizing, and overcurrent protection analysis including Milsoft WindMil, Milsoft LightTable, and Eaton’s CYMTCC.
