Bruce has more than 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry. He began his career as a turbine maintenance engineer with the City of Austin Electric Department (now Austin Energy). His primary function has been to oversee the operation and maintenance of five large coal/lignite-fired units for non-operating co-owners. More recently, he acted as Owner’s Engineer for the development of a 140 MW combined cycle unit and oversaw the site development and relocation of 300 MW of combustion turbine generation. Bruce has testified in numerous regulatory proceedings and has been actively involved in the interpretation and implementation of the provisions in the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University
  • Masters Degree in Latin American Business and Economics from the University of Texas
